Campbell & Company Insurance Agency of Magnolia, a dedicated supporter of Southern Arkansas University, recently committed $25,000 to fund annual scholarships in the Rankin College of Business through the University’s new Love and Loyalty Campaign.
Bill Talbot, co-owner and vice president of Campbell & Company of Magnolia hopes the agency can make a difference for RCB students and in Columbia County for years to come. Having received his BBA from SAU in 1978, he has been with the local insurance firm since 1988.
The $25,000 commitment will be divided into two scholarships per year for 10 years totaling $2,500 annually. This will benefit two students per year in the Rankin College of Business beginning in the spring of 2020. It will provide a RCB student with $1,250 in the spring semester and an additional $1,250 for a separate RCB student in the fall.
Recipients will be incoming freshmen, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, be a graduate of a high school located in Columbia County, demonstrate leadership experience and community service, and major in a degree plan within the Rankin College of Business.
David O’Dell will be the scholarship recipient for spring 2020. A graduate of Magnolia High School, he is a freshman majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems.
