Southern Arkansas University Theatre is set to perform their big spring musical, The Little Mermaid, at Harton Theatre from April 20-23, 2017.
The show will run at 7 p.m. nightly from April 20-22, as well a 2 p.m. performance on April 23. An actor talk back session will follow the April 22 performance.
Tickets can be purchased at www.showtix4u.com. Community patrons can purchase individual tickets for $15 on the website or by calling SAU Theatre at (870) 235-4291. SAU faculty, staff, and student tickets are $10.

Fans from ages 3 to 103 will want to sing along with their favorite Disney characters come to life-as the rebellious red-headed mermaid Ariel strikes a deal with the evil sea-witch Ursula to experience the life she dreams of on land.
This is SAU Theatre’s final show of a series of productions for SAU’s 2016-2017 Main Stage Theatre Season. It is originally produced by Disney Theatre Productions by Doug Wright, with music and lyrics by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and additional lyrics by Glenn Slater. It is being directed by Cason Murphy, with musical direction by Dr. David De Seguirant.
More than 1,100 area elementary students will enjoy the theatre experience courtesy of student shows on April 20-21.
Southern Arkansas University offers Arkansas’s most affordable Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts with studies in Musical Theatre and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts with studies in Theatre. SAU’s BFA in Musical Theatre started the fall of 2015, and it entails a complete theatre and music curriculum based on the National Association of Schools of Music. The NASM is the national accrediting agency for music and music-related disciplines.
