The deadline has been extended to February 1 for area educators to submit class proposals for this summer’s second annual Mulerider Kids College (MKC) at Southern Arkansas University.
The 2016 MKC is scheduled for 8 a.m. – noon daily on June 27-30. MKC organizers are looking for creative, educational and fun class ideas. Class proposals can be submitted at the MKC website, http://web.saumag.edu/kids-college.
There will be a stipend paid to MKC teachers who will teach one to three 60-minute classes, pending on student enrollment. MKC also depends on help from volunteers, and anyone interested can RSVP on the MKC website as well.
Following on the success of the inaugural 2015 MKC, hopes are to again to offer an array of unique classes for youth entering into the following grade categories: first-second, third-fourth, and fifth-sixth. Popular classes last summer attracted more than 150 students to the SAU campus. Some of the class favorites included “Kids Can Grill Too,” “Agtivities and Rodeo,” “Planet Pops and Aliens,” “Construction Challenges,” and “Unsolved Mysteries.”
