Hear, Ye! Hear, Ye! Lords and Laydies (thine children, too), one and all are invited to join the Heritage and Chamber Singers of Southern Arkansas University for a Madrigal Feast at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 4, in the Year of our Lord, 2015, in the Reynolds Center Grand Hall.
Guests will be treated to the usual banter of the Royal Courte and fine seasonal choral music. The menu is splendid: wassail (or coffee, tea, or water…but how 21st century that would be?), salad, French Onion Soup, roasted beef and grilleth poultry, roasted potatoes, beans with almonds, bread, and a royal dessert.
Included as part of the evening’s entertainment will be a Renaissance/Monty Python/Jeopardy!/Kitchen Sink Masque titled, “Night, Night, Knights.” Thine oh-so-merry servers, singers, and thespians will be members of the Heritage and Chamber Singers.
Tickets and/or reservations are available from David De Seguirant at (870)235-4246, or thou mayest reserve a seat by sending an email to ddeseguirant@saumag.edu. Whilst tickets may be purchased at the door, to provide the most accurate headcount for those preparing the meal we request your reservation by noon on Monday, November 23. Individual tickets are $25; tickets for two are $40. Thou mayest pay with cash or check, but thine plastic cards hath no place in the 16th century. Checks may be made payable to “SAU Heritage Singers” and sent to: Dr. David De Seguirant, 100 East University, MSC 9142, Magnolia, AR, 71753.
Of course, since this event ushers in the holiday season, thou mayest, according to thy most generous reputation, purchase a $40 individual ticket, or two $25 tickets for a couple. Your anonymity is assured; after a fortnight in the dungeon, our Towne Crier hath pledged his silence.
