Southern Arkansas University Teacher Education students launch a 44-foot hot air balloon during a recent Saturday hands-on STEM training session as a part of a science methods lab. Investigating the various forces involved with flight, students filled the balloon with air, allowed the sun’s solar energy to heat the air inside, and then observed as the balloon began to rise. The students were under the direction of Dr. Angela Stanford, a new faculty member in the College of Education at SAU.
