The Heritage Singers of Southern Arkansas University will present their Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, in the sanctuary of Central Baptist Church, Magnolia.
Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
The singers will perform Mozart’s Mass in C Major (K317), the “Coronation Mass.” The mass was recently performed by many of the members of the ensemble on the stage of famed Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Utilizing the five-movement structure of the mass, additional selections from choral repertoire were assembled to reflect the underlying meaning of each mass movement for the second half of the evening’s performance—resulting in a secular Missa Eclectica (Eclectic Mass).
