MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas University and its athletic department have announced a full slate of pre-game festivities on Saturday, November 8 as the SAU football team will square off against nationally-ranked Henderson State in the sixth-annual Murphy USA Classic game, which will be held at Memorial Stadium in El Dorado.
Tickets for the game are $5 in advance and $7 at the gate on game day. Advanced tickets may be purchased at any Murphy USA gas stations in South Arkansas, including at their Magnolia location (58 Highway 79 N, Magnolia, AR 71753). SAU students will get in free with their student ID, but no other passes will be honored.
The day will begin at 10:15 a.m. as SAU students and Mulerider football fans are invited to meet at the Welcome Center to have their car windows chalked and to be a part of the caravan following the football buses to El Dorado. Additionally, the first 75 cars will receive a SAU flag to fly out of their window on the way to the game.
At 10:30 a.m., Student Activities will begin loading students into their party bus. Seats are limited and students must sign up in advance by emailing Kandice Herron at klherron@saumag.edu.
At 10:45 a.m., the Mulerider football team, along with the fan caravan, will leave for El Dorado under a police escort provided by SAU Campus Police officers.
Mulegating activities are scheduled to begin at noon on the west side of Fifth Street near Memorial Stadium. Lasting up until kickoff, Mulegating will be the source for fans to receive free gifts such as T-shirts, koozies, and more!
Also at noon, country singer David Fanning (www.Davidfanningmusic.com) will perform on Fifth Street near the south end of the stadium.
At 1 p.m., both SAU and Henderson State will have their pre-game pep rallies as both school’s cheerleaders and bands will perform in alternating fashion.
Beginning at 1:40 p.m., fans are encouraged to begin making their way inside the stadium as SAU’s annual Senior Day ceremony for its football team and cheerleaders will begin at that time.
Additionally, following the Senior Day ceremony, the Invocation, National Anthem, and both team’s alma mater’s will be performed leading up to kick-off at 2 p.m.

10:45 a.m. …………Caravan leaves SAU Track – SAU Party Bus, fans, and football players leave for game with police escort
