Birds of prey stay alive by being quiet and mysterious, but several owls, hawks and other raptures will take center stage from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Southern Arkansas University Reynolds Center Foundation Hall for a presentation by Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas.
The event is free and open to anyone who want learn more about these beautiful and powerful birds. The event is sponsored by the SAU Department of Biology and Honors College Biology students.
Representatives from Raptor Rehab of Central Arkansas made a similar presentation in the spring of 2013 at SAU. While explaining the intricacies of each species, the trained workers took the birds of prey from their cages and carried them around for the crowd to get a look.
Visitors are welcome to bring cameras to take photographs of the birds. Children can even pose by the birds following the presentation, but because of safety concerns, only the trained Raptor Rehab workers will be holding the birds.
