Southern Arkansas University is set to confer degrees on 347 students during spring commencement exercises on Friday, May 4.
Three ceremonies are planned. Students receiving degrees from the Department of Nursing will graduate during a ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Donald W. Reynolds Campus and Community Center. The speaker for the ceremony will be Pat Williams, former chair of the SAU Department of Nursing. A total of 56 students will participate in this ceremony.
Students receiving a degree from the School of Graduate Studies will walk during a 4 p.m. ceremony also in Grand Hall. Dr. Ben Johnson, professor of history, will be the speaker. A total of 53 students will participate in this ceremony.
The University’s main undergraduate commencement ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on the University Mall with former State Representative Bruce Maloch as the speaker. In all, 238 students will participate in this ceremony.
