MAGNOLIA – The Residential College at Southern Arkansas University has planned a unique fundraiser to benefit the Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Library as well as Magnolia Arts.
As part of the “Fincher Hall Project,” children age five through 15 are invited to participate in a service learning art project that will result in the child’s original art being displayed at the Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Students will work with an artist from 5-8 p.m. on April 18, 19, or 21 (date is chosen by the participant) at Fincher Hall. Registration is $20 and includes art supplies and a meal.
The art work will be placed up for auction on Thursday, April 28 at the home of Cal and Debbie Partee in Magnolia. Parents, grandparents, family, and friends are invited to stop by anytime during the day from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to bid on their child’s painting. Family and friends are also invited to the silent auction party at the Partee residence from 5-7 p.m. that evening. Refreshments will be served, and tickets to the party are $10.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired library and Magnolia Arts.
