MAGNOLIA – The Southern Arkansas University Small Business and Technology Development Center and the SAU College of Business will team up again this semester to provide market research projects to local small businesses.
Market research enables entrepreneurs to access data and analysis to assist them in making sound business decisions relative to site selection, potential customers and competitors, and industry information. The projects also provide SAU students with hands-on experience and give them the opportunity to assist small business owners with new and innovative ideas.
The faculty for the College of Business directs the projects, and the SAU SBTDC provides follow-up services to participating businesses and continues the relationship by helping businesses implement project recommendations.
The ASBTDC offers small business training, consulting and market research through a statewide network of seven offices and is a partnership of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s College of Business and other institutions of higher education. The SAU SBTDC serves small businesses in Calhoun, Columbia, Hempstead, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, Ouachita and Union counties.
Small businesses in south Arkansas interested in participating in student projects can contact Felicia Bozeman, director of the SBTDC at (870) 235.4007 or fabozeman@saumag.edu.
