MAGNOLIA – The Southern Arkansas University Heritage Singers and Chamber Singers will present their fall choral concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at the First United Methodist Church, 320 W. Main St., Magnolia. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Selections for the evening’s performance trace the change of seasons from autumn to winter – the slightly eerie to the sacred. The ensembles will perform a widely varied program that will incorporate chant and jazz and features composers including Francis Poulenc, Paul Hindemith, Arvo Part, Rene Clausen, and John Rutter, Also appearing on the program will be members of SAU’s band and guest soloist soprano Angela Wisely.
The ensembles are under the direction of Dr. David DeSeguirant who is in his first year as director of choral activities for the University. Ms. Sharon Ard accompanies the ensembles at the piano and organ.
