MAGNOLIA – Students from across the region are invited to participate in the ACT Institute, hosted by the Educational Renewal Zone at Southern Arkansas University. The program will take place on the SAU-Magnolia campus from June 21 through July 1 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. each day Monday-Thursday. Registration is $100 per student with the sponsorship of cooperating school districts. Seating is limited, and the enrollment deadline is June 4.
During the ACT Institute, students will be given step-by-step instructions in English, reading, science and mathematics to improve their scores on the ACT college entrance exam. The courses will be taught by members of the SAU faculty who will also provide test-taking strategies for the students. Participants will be given grant information for financing college and an ACT preparation handbook and software. Lunch and snacks will be included each day.
