Magale Library is offering a month-long trial of Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database. Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database provides reliable one search access to all important and relevant information about Pre K-12 media of all types, including reviews from respected publications for those who work with Pre K-12 media.
The database will be available on a trial basis until Nov. 13 through the Web site of Magale Library to all Southern Arkansas University students, faculty and staff.
“Even though only SAU students, faculty and staff may access the database, it can still be very helpful to many people: undergraduate and education students, teachers seeking master’s degrees and anyone interested in children’s literature,” said Julie Metro, Electronic Resources Manager at Magale Library.
The database offers more than 300,000 full-text reviews of children’s books, multimedia, audio books, etc. from 36 review sources. Users can search for specific titles, authors and subjects to access associated reviews and author bibliographies; the database also has links to thousands of Web sites, including author Web sites and book discussion guides.
The Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database trial is one of the factors that will help Magale Library decide if SAU is a good market for the database permanently. Magale has many databases available already, such as the Gale Databases and EBSCOhost.
“More and more libraries are moving toward electronic databases because they allow library users to get scholarly information very quickly, easily, and efficiently. I hope the Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database gets good reviews and responses from Magale Library users,” said Magale Library Director Daniel Page.
