SAU students win awards at PBL State Leadership Conference
MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Nine members of the Phi Beta Lambda chapter at Southern Arkansas University, as well as the chapter itself, received awards at this year’s PBL State Conference. Six chapter members have qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
First place awards include: Ashani Dasgupta (Taj) and Daniel Bird –American Enterprise Project; Grant Toms and Amber Amonette–Partnership with Business Project; Candyce McCann—Local Chapter Annual Business Report; Erv Siemoneit, Walgreens—Arkansas PBL Business Person of the Year; and the PBL chapter—Arkansas FBLE-PBL Foundation Financial Award and March of Dimes Financial Award.
Kristina Treadway received a second place award for Future Business Executive.
The PBL chapter received third place awards for Largest Professional Division Membership and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Financial Award, as well as a fourth place award for Largest Local Chapter Membership (Collegiate).
Brandon Hogg was awarded fifth place for Marketing Concepts, while Daniel Bird placed fourth in Open Events-Strategic Management.
Candyce McCann, Sarah Hannegan, and Kristina Treadway were given recognition awards for Who’s Who in AR PBL. The Arkansas PBL Member of the Year was awarded to Ashani Dasgupta.
Phi Beta Lambda is a division of Future Business Leaders of America. This is a national business education association that helps prepare students for future careers. Membership is open to all students interested in business careers or education. PBL members rely on donations, fundraisers, and corporate sponsors to cover expenses of attending conferences.
