MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The 2007 Southern Arkansas University Homecoming King, Queen and court have been selected.
Whitney Black, a senior marketing major from Texarkana, was named homecoming queen and Rakesh Karn, a senior marketing major from Kathmandu, Nepal was named homecoming king.
The court members include: Rachel Vinsant, a senior biological sciences major form Greenville, Texas; Michael Woods, a senior computer information systems major from Foreman, Ark.; Kristina Treadway, a senior business administration major from Atlanta, Texas; Pat Robey, a senior human kinetics and recreation major from Longview, Texas; Valerie Norris, a senior majoring in accounting from Fort Worth, Texas; Andrew Musgrove, a senior biology major from Texarkana,Texas; Beth Monroe, senior English major from Hope, Ark., and Kyle McCracken, senior biology major from Fouke, Ark.
This is the first year the homecoming court has been comprised of men and women. In the past only women were selected. Nominations this year were also stricter with nominees being required to go through an interview process, have a 3.0 grade point average, have at least 60 college hours and have no disciplinary record.
The young men and women will be presented at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Wilkins Stadium. The homecoming game follows immediately at 2:30 p.m. as the Muleriders face Harding University.
