MAGNOLIA, Ark. — Several Southern Arkansas University students successfully completed internships over the summer and many are currently working in internship positions; their experiences are highlighted below.
Accounting students participating in internships included: Kristina Daily of Houston with The Hartford in Houston; Emad Musharbash of Amman, Jordan with Raymond James Financial Services in Paris, Texas; Pradeep Sapkota of Kathmandu, Nepal with Island Cycles, Inc. of Ocean City, Maryland; and Mylinda Simpson of Camden, Ark., with Lamar Moore, CPA of Camden.
Students participating in finance internships include: Faidhat Hoza of Annadale, Va., with B & M Transport of Annadale, Virginia; Hoa Nguyen of Russell Springs, Vietnam with Aramark in Magnolia; Valerie Norris of Ft. Worth with Preferred Pump and Equipment in Ft. Worth; and Zach Rogers of Camden, Ark., with Peoples Bank in Magnolia.
Management interns included: Christina Albrecht of Monticello, Ark., with Ark-La Connection in Magnolia; Betsy Boyette of Camden, Ark., with Reynolds Forestry Corporation RFC, Incorporated of Magnolia; Mitchell Chenoweth of Smackover, Ark., with Cross Oil Refining and Marketing, Incorporated of Smackover; and Jeannie Henninger of Waldo, Ark., with Dana Stone, Attorney-at-Law, in Prescott.
Management Information Systems students included: Sarah Burns of Stamps, Ark., with Murphy Oil Corporation in El Dorado and Barsha Gurung of Kathmandu, Nepal with SAU’s Continuing Education Center.
Internships in Marketing were held by Billy Penick of Magnolia, Ark., with the Magnolia Economic Development Alliance of Columbia County, Kristina Treadway of Atlanta, Texas with Walgreens in Texarkana, and Grant Toms of Taylor, Ark., with Walgreens in Bentonville, Ark.
Over the past six years, the College of Business has placed an average of 37 interns annually in corporate environments giving these students an edge in the job market.
