MAGNOLIA, Ark. — The SAU Theatre and Mass Communication Department will present a special treat for area children this holiday season, a production called “Christmas in the Land of Oz.”
The presentation will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 9 in the Harton Theatre. The theatre will come alive with Munchins, Dorothy and Toto, the Lion, the Tinman, Scarecrow and a host of other characters. Immediately following the production, children will get to meet the characters in the lobby of Harton Theatre. This production is a Christmas gift, especially for the children, so there is no admission charge.
Local SAU students participating in the play include Wendy White and Emily Gordon from El Dorado, Ark., Montril Rabion and Randy Holmes from Camden, Ark., Amber Johnson, Whitney Henderson and Lauren Verser from Hope, Ark., Mandy Stanley from Murfressboro, Brandon Gray from Magnolia, Ark., Christina Riggins from Waldo, Ark., and Kandice Smith from Taylor, Ark. Other SAU students in the play include Lauren Rodriguez from Austin, Texas, Nathan Waddell from Springhill, Ark., Eric Hufstetler from Ore City, Texas and Jeremy Burks from Leesville, Louisiana.
