There were several new faces among the faculty at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, as classes began on Wednesday, Aug. 23. Nineteen new faculty members have joined the University family.
“It is, indeed, a pleasure to welcome 19 new faculty members to Southern Arkansas,” said Dr. David Rankin, president of the University. “They are truly an outstanding group who bring a wealth of academic talent to our University.”
Dr. Earl Stennis will serve as interim dean of the College of Business. Also joining the College of Business is Dr. Timothy Ford, assistant professor of economics.
The College of Education welcomes seven new faculty members. They are Dr. William R. Buckman, assistant professor of education; Kendall Hill, assistant football coach and strength and conditioning coach; Dr. William Kist, assistant professor of health, kinesiology, and recreation; Russ Pickett, instructor of health, kinesiology, and recreation, and assistant football coach; Charlotte Wright, assistant professor of education; and Brooke White, head volleyball coach and instructor of health, kinesiology, and recreation.
There are three new faculty members in the College of Liberal and Performing Arts. They are Dr. Patrick Edgar, assistant professor of public administration; John C. Hawkins Jr., interim assistant professor of criminal justice; and Jeffrey Vickers, assistant professor of music.
The College of Science and Technology welcomes seven new faculty members. They are Christa Brummett, instructor of biology; Cynthia Graham, instructor of nursing and skills lab coordinator; Shari Kist, assistant professor of nursing; Dr. Joseph Kremer, assistant professor of chemistry; Caroline Neeley, instructor of mathematics; Rebecca B. Parnell, assistant professor of nursing; and Whitney Tolbert, instructor of nursing.
