Three very talented students from the Department of Theatre and Mass Communication at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, will perform the entire works of William Shakespeare in less than two hours in the play “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged).”
Performance dates are Tuesday through Thursday, April 25-27. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in Harton Theater. Admission is $2 for students, faculty, and staff, and $4 for general admission.
“The play delivers what it promises,” said Josh Foldy, guest director from New York City. “The cast does a lot of different things and play a lot of different characters.”
“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” is an irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays. It is the longest-running comedy, now in its eighth year at the Criterion Theatre.
Foldy classifies the production as a comedy.
“Audience members will have fun at the performance,” he said.
Cast members include Cassandra Owens, a senior theatre major from McNeil; Billy Penick, a junior marketing major from Magnolia; and Steven Farmer, a senior theatre major from Warren.
