Don’t be surprised to see Lindsay Musielak beating the pavement all over Magnolia as she trains to run for the Southern Arkansas University track and cross country teams.
“It’s nice to run through town and learn your way around,” said the junior marketing major from McKinney, Texas.
Lindsay began her running career in the seventh grade.
“I was told I was too slow to be a sprinter in the seventh grade, so they put me on the cross country team,” she explained. “I seemed to have a natural talent for it.”
Her running led her directly to SAU.
“I came to SAU on a recruiting trip for track because I wanted to attend a small school,” she said. “Everyone was very friendly here, and I decided it is a nice distance from my hometown.”
Lindsay said the best thing about attending SAU has been the friends she has made.
“The greatest thing about SAU has been all of the people I have met through running track and cross country,” she said.
She encourages students to become involved in all of the activities the University has to offer.
“Your experience is what you make of it,” she said. “It is good to get involved.”
She also appreciates the education she will have received when she graduates.
“We have the best business school in the state of Arkansas,” Lindsay boasted. “All of my classes are interesting, and my professors know what they are talking about.”
After graduation, Lindsay hopes to pursue a career in advertising in the Dallas area.
“I love advertising because you can be creative,” she explained. “I want a job where I will be able to use my creativity.”
