Summer Carter, center, was crowned Miss Southern Arkansas University 2007 in a ceremony held on the stage of Harton Theater on the University Campus. Carter also received the Lifestyle and Fitness Award, Interview Award, Talent Award, and Miss Congeniality. She is the 22-year-old daughter of Cheryl Cooper of Texarkana. She is a senior early childhood education major and a 2002 graduate of Fouke High School.

Vanessa Johnson, right, was named first runner-up and tied for the Talent Award. She is a junior accounting major and the daughter of Ye Juanda Sargent. She is a 2005 graduate of Magnolia High School.

Markiya Lewis was named second runner up. Lewis is a sophomore criminal justice major from Little Rock. She is the daughter of Barbara Marks. She is a 2004 graduate of Oak Grove High School.

Not pictured is Petronia Dixon. She tied for the Miss Congeniality Award. Dixon is a senior mass communication-broadcast journalism major from Strong. She is the daughter of Zandra Williams and a 2001 graduate of Strong High School.
