The Office of Continuing Education at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, will offer a Basic Photography course from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday, beginning Oct. 11.
This class is designed for those who want to learn the basics of film, shutter speed, F-stop, flash, and how to choose the correct lens focal length for portraits, scenic landscapes, and candid snapshots. It includes practical how-to knowledge about composition and lighting and how to get the best performance out of a camera and how to get rid of red eye and blurry faces in pictures. Participants are asked to bring a digital or film camera to class and encouraged to have fun with self-selected assignments and projects.
The cost of the class is $30, and it will be led by Danny Fitzpatrick.
