Grab your pillows and blankets in preparation for the 25th annual Residence Hall Association Bed Race to be held in conjunction with Family Day activities on the campus of Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia.
Family Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17, and will include the bed race, a reception, a canoe race, and an organizations’ fair.
Representatives from residence halls and student organizations will again put beds on wheels, decorate them, and race the beds down Crescent Drive. Prizes are awarded for Best Decorated Bed, Craftsmanship, and Originality. The race will begin at 1 p.m.
The 16th annual Great Greek Canoe Race will begin at 3 p.m. at the Duck Pond behind Camp Hall. In this race, SAU Greek organizations join together in the spirit of camaraderie and competition to race their canoes.
A welcome booth will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it will be located by the SAU Duck Pond. The Student Activities Board will sponsor its annual organizations’ fair from 1 to 4 p.m. This fair will also be held next to the Duck Pond.
Families will be able to attend a reception at 2 p.m. at the University Village clubhouse.
Mulegating activities kick off at 5 p.m. on the west side of the Welcome Center located behind the SAU track. Dinner will be provided by SAU for students and their families.
The Muleriders take on Arkansas Tech University at 7 p.m. at Wilkins Stadium.
