The Ozark Foothills FilmFest will host the premiere of “Arkansas Portraits: A Look at Art Made by Arkansans” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at The Gem in Heber Springs.
Doug Waterfield, assistant professor of art and chair of the Department of Art and Design at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, is the filmmaker and will attend the screening and discuss the film.
The film includes portraits of Carroll Cloar, Louis and Elsie Freund, Leon Niehues, and Paul Maxwell.
A reception honoring Waterfield will be held at the Common Ground Studio, next door to The Gem, following the screening.
A number of works by Waterfield will also be on display at the Common Ground Studio through the end of October.
Admission to the premiere is $6 for general admission and $5 for seniors and students.
