Adrian Showalter is an Assistant Professor of Biology and a cancer biologist. They earned their B.S. in Biochemistry from Culver-Stockton College (2014), where they were a teaching assistant for chemistry courses. The next step was earning their Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in cancer biology and immunology from the University of Central Florida (2020). Their thesis explored the role of chaperonin-containing TCP-1 (CCT), a protein-folding complex, in the biogenesis and metastasis of advanced breast cancer. Their interests include protein biology, infectious diseases, and immunotherapy. They teach Introduction to Biology for non-majors, Principles of Biology for biology majors, and Microbiology for Nursing lecture and labs.
