Cheryl Goodheart

Cheryl is a Licensed Professional Counselor and began working in the mental health field in 1992. She obtained her Bachelor of Art in Psychology and her Master of Education in Agency Counseling from Southern Arkansas University. She worked in a Community Mental Health setting for 12 years then took a position providing mental health services to at risk youth. During her 15 years in this position, she began an out-patient clinic open to the public. This clinic gradually grew and averaged a census of approximately 300 clients. She began working at the Counseling Center at SAU in 2016. Cheryl has had a specialization in Supervision since 1999 and specializations in Technology Assisted Counseling and Technology Assisted Supervision since 2017. She is also certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She considers it a privilege to be able to work with the faculty, staff and students of SAU and to help the students on their path to success in life.
