Dr. Siqi (Sophia) Fan is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Southern Arkansas University, where she teaches courses in managerial accounting, accounting decision making, and accounting data analytics. She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, holds a Master of Applied Finance from Pepperdine University, and a bachelor’s degree in international business from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
Dr. Fan’s research interests focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures, accounting information systems (AIS), and auditing. In the classroom, Dr. Fan is dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, where she integrates real-world examples and the latest research into her teaching. She is committed to developing her students’ critical thinking and analytical skills, preparing them for successful careers in accounting and finance.
Outside of academia, Dr. Fan is actively engaged in the professional community, frequently participating in conferences and workshops to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices. She also enjoys exploring the intersection of accounting and technology, particularly in the realm of data analytics.
