Dr. Puskar Chapagain received his B.S. and M.S. in Physics from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal in November 1999 and November 2004, respectively. He then accomplished his Ph.D. in Physics from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX in December 2015. He spent two years as a lecturer of physics in the College of Biomedical Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nepal, where he taught undergraduate classes in engineering, physics, and electro-engineering materials before moving to the United States in 2007 to pursue additional studies. He received his second MS degree in Physics from University of Minnesota, Duluth in May 2009. While obtaining his M.S. and Ph.D., Dr. Chapagain taught various Physics I and II and Astronomy labs for non-science and science majors in order to fulfill his teaching assistant duties. Before joining SAU in August 2016, he was working as a part-time physics instructor at North Central Texas College in Corinth, TX. Dr. Chapagain’s professional preparation and 10+ years of experience in teaching physics makes him a strong candidate for teaching lower-level as well as advanced-level undergraduate physics courses. Dr. Chapagain currently teaches physical sciences, algebra- and calculus-based physics, astronomy, solid state physics, and semiconductor devices.
