{"id":204,"date":"2012-10-23T10:08:16","date_gmt":"2012-10-23T15:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/veterans\/?p=204"},"modified":"2014-06-05T10:42:59","modified_gmt":"2014-06-05T15:42:59","slug":"veterans-united-scholarship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/veterans\/blog\/2012\/10\/23\/veterans-united-scholarship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Veterans United Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veterans United Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of veterans and military families nationwide.\u00a0 The Veterans United Scholarship Program is funded by employee donations.<\/p>\n<p>The details of the scholarship are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Award<\/span><\/em><\/strong><em> \u2013 Five bi-annual $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to help pay for tuition and books.<\/em><strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Eligibility<\/span><\/em><\/strong><em> \u2013 Potential applicants must be pursuing a post-secondary degree at an accredited college or university, submit a transcript reflecting a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and have a connection to the military by being one of the following: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Active-duty service member<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Veteran<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Spouse of military member or veteran<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Surviving spouse or child of a fallen soldier<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Child of a service member or veteran<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Applicants will be able to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enhancelives.com\/scholarships\">fill out the scholarship application and upload your essay<\/a> only during the spring and fall submission periods<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How to Apply<\/span><\/em><\/strong><em> \u2013\u00a0Applicants must also submit an essay no less than 500 words relating to one of several prompts made available during the key dates for spring and fall. Spring key dates are March 15-April 30. Scholarship will be announced on May 31 at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.enhancelives.com\/news\"> www.enhancelives.com\/news<\/a>.
