Fall, spring semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EDUC 0123. Transitional Reading.<\/strong> A reading course for select students with reading\u00a0ACT scores less than 19, to be taken concurrently with approved education courses. The\u00a0course is designed to provide enrichment activities and support to enable the student to\u00a0be successful in reading-based general education courses. The enrolled students must\u00a0make a \u201cC\u201d or better to pass EDUC 0123. As needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EDUC 1503. Advanced College Reading.<\/strong> Prerequisites: EDUC 0104 or ACT reading\u00a0score of 19 or higher. Development of reading skills through perception training,\u00a0vocabulary building, comprehension training, rate building, and active listening skills.\u00a0Individual diagnosis and prescription emphasized. Fall, spring semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ENGL 0123<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0 Transitional Composition.<\/strong>\u00a0 A composition course for selected students with English ACT scores less than 19, to be taken concurrently with ENGL 1113, Composition I.\u00a0 The course is designed to provide enrichment activities and support to enable the students to be successful in Composition I.\u00a0 The enrolled students must make a \u201cC\u201d or better in ENGL 0123 in order to pass ENGL 1113.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ENGL 0204. Fundamentals of Writing.<\/strong> An intensive study of the fundamentals of\u00a0written English, attending to grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary, and paragraph\u00a0and elementary theme development. Fall, spring semester. Summer as needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATH 0404. Fundamentals of Math.<\/strong> A review of basic algebra, including\u00a0polynomials, equations and inequalities, factoring, and linear graphs. Fall, spring\u00a0semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATH 0123. Transitional Fundamentals of Math.<\/strong> A review of pre-algebra; the real\u00a0number system; equations; inequalities and applications; graphs of linear equations and\u00a0inequalities. Exponents and polynomials; factoring and applications. As needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATH 0413. Transitional Intermediate Algebra.<\/strong> High school Algebra I required\u00a0with a minimum of ACT score of 18, or successful completion of MATH 0123\u00a0(Transitional Fundamentals of Math) or MATH 0404 (Fundamentals of Math), or\u00a0approval of the chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.\u00a0Intermediate Algebra is a course to prepare a student for success in College Algebra\u00a0(MATH 1023). This course does NOT satisfy general education mathematics\u00a0requirements and does NOT count toward the number of hours required for a degree.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATH 0703. Intermediate Algebra.<\/strong> Prerequisite: High school Algebra I required\u00a0with a minimum ACT score of 18, or successful completion of MATH 0404, or approval\u00a0of the chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
