{"id":37,"date":"2015-06-17T20:32:56","date_gmt":"2015-06-17T20:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/title-ix\/?page_id=37"},"modified":"2015-06-30T21:42:14","modified_gmt":"2015-06-30T21:42:14","slug":"stalking","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/title-ix\/types-of-abuse\/stalking\/","title":{"rendered":"Stalking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A\u00a0pattern of unwanted conduct directed at another person that threatens or endangers the safety, physical or mental health, or life or property of that person, or creates a reasonable fear of such a threat or action.<\/p>\n<p>Signs that it could be stalking:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Following you, with or without your knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Calling or texting excessively<\/li>\n<li>Knowing your schedule and\/or showing up at places you go<\/li>\n<li>Threatening to hurt you, your friends, family, pets, or themselves<\/li>\n<li>Damaging your property<\/li>\n<li>It can even look romantic or non-threatening, like cards, flowers, emails, etc, but if this behavior is unwanted, it could be stalking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An excellent resource is <u>Stalking: A Handbook for Victims<\/u>, by Emily Spence.
