If you have questions,\u00a0please contact\u00a0us here.<\/p><p>Students under scholarship are expected to:<\/p><ul><li>Audition, and\/or apply for a design, technical, or crew assignment for each show unless alternate arrangements have been made in advance with the Director of Theatre or Head of Design.<\/li><li>Fulfill all requirements of your assigned acting, design, technical, or crew assignment.<\/li><li>Attend all required department meetings and work calls.<\/li><li>Register for a minimum of 15 hours of coursework during the semester of the award.<\/li><li>Complete a minimum of 15 hours of coursework per semester (30 hours per academic year).<\/li><li>Maintain a GPA of 3.0 in all Theatre classes, as well as maintain an overall minimum GPA of 2.0.<\/li><li>Declare and\/or remain a theatre or musical theatre major. (majors only)<\/li><li>Show collegiality among fellow students and faculty<\/li><\/ul><h2>Auditions<\/h2><p><strong>Your audition\/interview plays a primary role in your admission decision. It gives us the opportunity to evaluate your talent and potential and determine if you are compatible with our program.<\/strong><\/p><h3>BFA Theatre (Acting)<\/h3><ul><li>Students should prepare two pieces:<ul><li>One 60-90 second monologue from a contemporary play (1900-present).<\/li><li>One 60-90 second monologue from a classic play (before 1900).<ul><li>Monologues must be from published plays.<\/li><li>Monologues cannot be from musicals, television shows, or movies.<\/li><li>Both monologues must be memorized.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><h3>BFA Musical Theatre<\/h3><ul><li>Students should prepare three pieces:<ul><li>One Monologue: Please prepare one 1-2 minute monologue from a contemporary play (1900-present).<\/li><li>Two contrasting 1-minute song cuts<ul><li>One song should have been written before 1970. This song can be either the up-tempo or the ballad (student\u2019s choice).<\/li><li>One song should be written after 1970 and contrast the style of the first.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><h3>BFA Theatre (Design\/Tech)<\/h3><p>Please bring your portfolio of any design\/stage management work you have completed. These examples of your creative work should document your work in the theatre, but may also include:<\/p><ul><li>Art sketches or painting<\/li><li>Video or audio tapes<\/li><li>Photos of scale models, ceramics, or sculptures<\/li><li>Evidence of fashion design and construction techniques<\/li><li>Evidence of fashion hair and make-up techniques<\/li><li>Jewelry designs<\/li><li>Computer or graphic designs<\/li><li>Evidence of special engineering or mechanical skills<\/li><li>Photography<\/li><li>Evidence of puppetry design and construction techniques<\/li><li>Stage management binder and\/or prompt book<\/li><\/ul><h3 role=\"presentation\">Theatre Minor<\/h3><p>Choose <strong>one<\/strong> of the following options<\/p><ul><li><div role=\"presentation\">Option One &#8211; Students should prepare two contrasting monologues:<\/div><ul><li><div role=\"presentation\">One 60-90 second monologue from a contemporary play (1900-present).<\/div><\/li><li><div role=\"presentation\">One 60-90 second monologue from a classic play (before 1900).<\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><div role=\"presentation\">Option Two &#8211; Students should prepare two pieces:<\/div><ul><li><div role=\"presentation\">One musical theatre song cut.<\/div><\/li><li><div role=\"presentation\">One 60-90 second monologue from a contemporary play (1900-present).<\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><div role=\"presentation\">Option Three &#8211; Students should prepare a 2-minute presentation of a technical\/design portfolio.
