10 Items College Students Want"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Fall semester is creeping up on us.\u00a0 It\u2019s time to start making those essential checklists for move-in day.\u00a0 While your student may have a listed of new items that he or she needs, they are sure into include a few new hot items.\u00a0 Here is SAU\u2019s top 10 list items college students want.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">1.\u00a0 Apple Products: iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac Book<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The screen quality, applications, ease, and sleek look of Apple products make every college student want at least one of these items.\u00a0 You can find the iPhone at your local AT&amp;T or Verizon carrier.\u00a0 The iPad, iPod, and Macbook are sold at Apple stores, Best Buy, RadioShack, and even Toys-R-Us.\u00a0 Prices range anywhere from $49 for the iPod shuffle to $1100 for an Apple Macbook.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">2.\u00a0 Mini-Fridge and Microwave<\/span><\/p>\n<p>While most college students don\u2019t do a lot of cooking, a mini-fridge and microwave allow them to have small, simple snack in their own residence hall room.\u00a0 It\u2019s perfect for that left over pizza and maybe a few fruits and vegetables.\u00a0 \u00a0You can find a variety of colorful mini-fridges at your local Walmart for $69 and up.\u00a0 Be sure to find out if your student\u2019s roommate is already bringing a mini-fridge and\/or microwave to save space in his or her room.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">3.\u00a0 Flat Screen Television<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Not only does the flat screen take up less room, it looks cool, and allows students the luxury of watching their favorite shows (when they aren\u2019t studying of course).\u00a0 There are cable hookups available in each residence hall room at SAU.\u00a0 Check out the latest televisions at Best Buy, Target, or Walmart. \u00a0Prices are typically $125 or more, depending on the make, model, and size.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">4.\u00a0 Gaming Systems: Xbox 360, Xbox Kinect, Playstation, Wii<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Whether you play by yourself or with a group of friends, a gaming system is an excellent addition to any residence hall room.\u00a0 There are many different brands and models out there to choose from, it all depends on what type of games your student likes to play.\u00a0 An Xbox at will typically cost $200, while a costs Wii around $150.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">5.\u00a0 Kindle or Nook<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Everyone needs a break from studying now and then.\u00a0 A Kindle or Nook gives students the opportunity to read for fun on this sleek electronic book reader.\u00a0 You can find a kindle at amazon.com for $139.\u00a0 The Nook is available for $139 at barnesandnoble.com.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">6.\u00a0 Bedding: Mattress Pad, Memory Foam, Pillows, Comforter, Sheets<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Each residence hall room at SAU comes with a twin size mattress.\u00a0 A good mattress pad, twin size memory foam pad, set of pillows, comforter, and sheets can make any room feel more like home.\u00a0 Shop around and find what\u2019s right for you!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">7.\u00a0 Fan and Heated Blanket<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Each student is different when it comes to how hot or cold he or she prefers the residence hall room to be.\u00a0 Having a fan for those hot days and a heated blanket for the cooler months is a great item to have on hand, just in case.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">8.\u00a0 Digital Camera<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Most students want to capture those college memories on camera.\u00a0 Whether it\u2019s mulegating at a football game, attending special events on and off campus, or just time spent with new friends, a camera is a must have for college students.\u00a0 You can find great digital cameras for $100 or less.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">9.\u00a0 Alarm Clock with Built-in CD Player<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no question that students have to get up and go to class, and sometimes that alarm on your cell phone just doesn\u2019t work.\u00a0 An alarm clock with a CD player gives the students that wakeup call they need, plus the option of listening to music and relaxing when they have time.\u00a0 If you have already purchased an iPhone or iPod, there are several alarm clocks that will also pair with your Apple device.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">10.\u00a0 GPS<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For those traveling to Mulerider Country, a GPS is a helpful tool in making the journey.\u00a0 Students can find their way around town, travel with friends, and make their way home without getting lost.\u00a0 A Garmin or TomTom GPS can be found at our local Walmart, with prices ranging from $60-$200.<\/p>\n<p><em>Written by
