James E. Reppert, associate professor of mass communication at Southern Arkansas University, has been selected for participation in a McGraw-Hill Higher Education Public Speaking Seminar, to be held March 5-6 in San Francisco, California.<\/p>\n

Reppert was one of 12 communication educators chosen to participate and serve as group leaders in a series of discussion assignments focusing on public speaking. Educators will also provide McGraw-Hill publishers input on producing more effective instructional materials for college speech courses.<\/p>\n

He has served as a manuscript reviewer for more than a 12 college textbooks in broadcast journalism (writing and production), mass communication, and speech. Reppert teaches Introduction to Public Speaking, Advanced Public Speaking, Argumentation and Debate, and Introduction to Mass Communication.<\/p>\n

He has been named Scholar of the Year (1997-98), Teacher of the Year (2000-01 and 2006-07) and Undergraduate Mentor of the Year (2007-2008) by the Kentucky Communication Association, the first out-of-state educator to receive each award.<\/p>\n

Reppert has made more than 100 presentations at regional and national conventions of professional associations and been selected for 17 faculty seminars in media and communication.<\/p>\n

A member of the SAU faculty since 1987, Reppert holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in university studies from North Dakota State University and a master\u2019s degree in communication studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
