{"id":7869,"date":"2019-12-10T12:37:19","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T18:37:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/?p=7869"},"modified":"2019-12-12T08:25:14","modified_gmt":"2019-12-12T14:25:14","slug":"farm-bureau-insurance-generously-invests-in-sau-through-gift-to-poultry-science-facility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/2019\/farm-bureau-insurance-generously-invests-in-sau-through-gift-to-poultry-science-facility\/","title":{"rendered":"Farm Bureau Insurance generously invests in SAU through gift to poultry science facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a tremendous show of support for the students of Southern Arkansas University, Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Arkansas, Inc. has generously donated $100,000 to the University\u2019s new poultry science facility.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Trey Berry, SAU\u2019s president, said the gift represents the extraordinary bond between Farm Bureau and SAU and its budding poultry program.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Bureau Insurance made the gift to the SAU Foundation. Plus, it assists SAU in providing learning activities for students who want to be involved in the poultry industry. Southern Arkansas University, Farm Bureau, and the surrounding communities all win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In recognition of this extraordinary gift, the university will name the Agriculture Mechanics Teaching Laboratory in honor of Farm Bureau Insurance. Inside the First Financial Bank Poultry Facility, Farm Bureau will also be recognized in the naming of the Broiler\/Breeder Room.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to strengthening the educational component of SAU\u2019s poultry program, Farm Bureau will document the proper construction techniques used in building the poultry house.<\/p>\n<p>Poultry is the leading agriculture industry in Arkansas, and SAU\u2019s Poultry Science program will prepare students for careers in the ever-growing and changing industry. The poultry industry provides more than 15,000 jobs in Arkansas.
