The 36th Annual Celebration of Lights at Southern Arkansas University on December 5, 2019, promises holiday cheer with joyful displays, festive food and song, free photos with Santa, and a special holiday presentation of \u201cThe Santa Clause 3: Escape Clause.\u201d<\/p>\n

Activities in the Reynolds Center begin at 3 p.m with the first showing of \u201cThe Santa Clause 3: Escape Clause\u201d. Two other shows will take place at 5 and 7 p.m. Snow globe creation begins at 3 p.m and carries on until 7 p.m., also in the Reynolds Center.

Celebration of Lights Ceremony 2018.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Celebration of Lights festivities continue at Overstreet Hall and will follow the arrival of the Magnolia Christmas Parade, \u201cJingle Down Jackson,\u201d which runs from 5-6 p.m. The parade concludes in the Reynolds Center parking lot at SAU.<\/p>\n

Following the parade, RHA will begin the Overstreet Lighting with special guests Sam and Rose Biley lighting the SAU Holiday Tree; SAU President Dr. Trey Berry will offer greetings; the SAU Band and Chamber Singers will perform Christmas medleys; and refreshments will be provided. After parade winners are announced, the carolers will lead the procession to the Mall Area for the lighting of the bell tower.<\/p>\n

The Magale Library will be the home to the other special guest on campus, Mrs. Claus. Be sure to stop by during one of the storytime sessions at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Children will receive a free copy of \u201cJingle Bells\u201d while supplies last.<\/p>\n

Free photos with Santa, always a family favorite, along with the annual holiday buffet dinner and Christmas music are from 6-8 p.m. in the Reynolds Center. Adult tickets are $9.25 and tickets for children (5-12) are $4.25. Tickets can be purchased at the door.<\/p>\n
