Southern Arkansas University Theatre is set to perform \u201cMacbeth\u201d at Harton Theatre from October 2-6, 2019.<\/p>\n

The nightly shows, Wednesday-Saturday, will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Saturday-Sunday matinees, on October 5 and October 6, begin at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door, online at\u00a0www.showtix4u.com<\/a>, or by calling (870) 235-4255. General admission tickets are $17; $12 for SAU faculty, staff, and senior citizens; and $5 for students. A special Tours & Touchdowns price of $10 for general admission will be available October 5. There is an option available for season subscriptions at https:\/\/www.showtix4u.com\/events\/1562<\/a>.<\/p>\n

SAU Theatre to present “Macbeth”<\/p><\/div>\n

The show is recommended for a PG-13 audience due to content and violence.<\/p>\n

On August 30, 2005 \u2013 the day after Hurricane Katrina \u2013 Macbeth is visited by three New Orleans voodoo priestesses who tell him he is destined for greatness. Hearing these words, he shares this information with his beautiful, ambitious wife who agrees that he is the one who should rule \u2013 but first, he must kill the current leader, Duncan. When the act is committed, Macbeth and his wife spiral down a journey of murder, madness, and misdeeds. With the stage set for the final battle, will Macbeth triumph? Join us for Shakespeare\u2019s legendary tale set in one of the most popular cities in America.<\/p>\n

The play is under the stage direction of Brandon Smith. He is also the fight and intimacy coordinator and the costume designer for this play. Assistant director is Julia Mansur and the production manager is Wally Eastland.<\/p>\n

Caleb Russette, a Liberal and Performing Arts major from Fouke, Arkansas, has the lead role of Scott Macbeth; Grace Walker, a Liberal Performing Arts major from Texarkana, Texas, will play Lady Laura Macbeth.<\/p>\n
