Their performance caps another satisfying year for the team, said Rusty Hayes, rodeo coach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew we would make it,\u201d Hayes said of this year\u2019s run at the College Finals. \u201cWe had a very good fall semester as a team and overcame some challenges this spring to qualify these individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This will be the third qualifier to the College Finals for both Sullivan and Caudle, and Graham\u2019s second. Sullivan, a senior Psychology major from Morrilton, Arkansas, is the Ozark Region Champion Goat Tier, a title she has won three years in a row. Caudle, a junior Pre-Nursing major from Horatio, Arkansas, is the Ozark Region Reserve Champion Breakaway Roper. Graham, a sophomore Agricultural Business major from Simms, Texas, is the Reserve Champion Header. Davis, a freshman Agriculture Education major from Billingsleys Corner, Arkansas, will be making his first appearance at the CNFR as the Reserve Champion Heeler.<!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7414\" style=\"width: 208px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2019\/05\/Sullivan20Jacie.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7414\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7414\" src=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2019\/05\/Sullivan20Jacie-198x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"198\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2019\/05\/Sullivan20Jacie-198x300.jpg 198w, https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2019\/05\/Sullivan20Jacie.jpg 672w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-7414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jacie Sullivan will be making her third appearance at the College National Finals Rodeo in Jasper, Wyoming.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Hayes said he\u2019s not surprised the team members have earned a trip to Casper. \u201cIf everybody does what they\u2019re capable of doing, they have every reason to be successful. Congratulations to these students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Rodeo Team has a tradition of success at CNFR. \u201cOur women\u2019s team placed in the Top 10 last year, and either the men\u2019s or the women\u2019s team has placed in the Top 10 seven out of the last 10 trips to Casper,\u201d Hayes said. \u201cWe\u2019ve always been competitive on a national level as well as the regional level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The students will train hard in the weeks to come. \u201cThere are no days off,\u201d Graham said, with a laugh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a year-round thing,\u201d Caudle said, noting that her third qualifier to the CNFR brings a certain perspective. \u201cOnce you get past the hype, you have to look at it as just another event. I\u2019m going there with ice water in my veins.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hayes is looking forward to another successful year in 2019-2020, with the team looking to recruit nearly double its membership. \u201cWe\u2019ve got an expansion going on,\u201d he said. \u201cWe will probably bring in twice as many (students) this next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-six SAU Rodeo team members attended an Intercollegiate Rodeo at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, Mississippi, on April 25-26.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Southern Arkansas University Rodeo Team has earned their 13th consecutive trip to the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.
