The Office of Community Education at Southern Arkansas University has an interesting selection of affordable non-credit class options available for the public this fall.<\/p>\n

Class reservations are not final until the fee has been paid.<\/p>\n This course is designed to develop the student\u2019s expressive and receptive skills in American Sign Language. The student will be introduced to grammatical structure, use of expression in communication, and interpretation of English into American Sign Language.<\/p>\n This course is a continuation of American Sign Language 1 and is designed to develop expressive and receptive signing skills.<\/p>\n Obtain the knowledge and skills required to become a P.A.D.I certified instructor. The Professional Association of Diving Instructors is the largest and most prestigious training program in the world. The course consists of classroom, pool sessions, and open water checkouts (Lake DeGray). Minimum age is 10. Class is limited to 6 students.<\/p>\n Divers can refresh their skills that build confidence and proficiency under the supervision of a P.A.D.I. professional. Class size is limited.<\/p>\n Enjoy the benefits of a low-impact workout while socializing with friends. Using water resistance, you will enhance your flexibility, muscle balance, and cardiovascular fitness to develop a healthier you. Ideal for all fitness levels. Whether you want to expand your fitness skills or develop them, this class is perfect for you.<\/p>\n Learn to manage your money with confidence, protect what you have, spend and enjoy more, manage debt correctly, plan for your most successful future, and have less anxiety around your finances. Each class will focus on a relevant and important topic. You will learn 5 simple rules and 9 fundamental steps that govern personal finance, enabling you to make the best decisions for you – now and in the future.<\/p>\n Youth will be involved in a hands-on 1 hour art experience with drawing, painting, and 3-D art using various media. The workshop will conclude with a Youth Artists\u2019 Reception. Each class size is limited to 8 students.<\/p>\n This presentation will explore the differences, similarities, and general nature of Alzheimer\u2019s disease and Dementia. Learn about detection, causes, risk factors, stages, and treatment of these diseases will be discussed.<\/p>\n Amanda Blanchard, owner of Cookie Doughmain, will explain basic cookie decorating tools, bags, and tips in this fun Mother & Daughter class. Learn how to properly outline, flood, and decorate cookies and practice those skills on freshly Christmas baked cookies. Fee includes 1 dozen cookies.
