Teachers\u2019 children will also get to attend MKC for free in 2017.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2016\/12\/MKC16-teacher-1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5812\" src=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2016\/12\/MKC16-teacher-1-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2016\/12\/MKC16-teacher-1-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2016\/12\/MKC16-teacher-1-768x508.jpg 768w, https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2016\/12\/MKC16-teacher-1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The proposal deadline is <span data-term=\"goog_113476643\">Jan. 16<\/span>. Classes that have proven popular in previous MKCs are those that are hands-on, innovative and interesting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe desire to provide fun, entertaining and creative classes that will encourage a love for learning while also providing new and different educational experiences for area youth,\u201d said Jana Walker, MKC coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>The MKC website lists a number of class topic ideas \u2013 including science experiments, robotics, nursing, dance, theatre, art, sewing, culinary, Legos and video games \u2013 but the opportunities are endless.<\/p>\n<p>Because enrollment grew from 150 to 250 kids this past summer from the inaugural MKC in 2015, organizers are hosting two camps this year. They will be <span data-term=\"goog_113476644\">June 26-29<\/span>, from <span data-term=\"goog_113476645\">8 a.m.-12 p.m.<\/span>, and also at <span data-term=\"goog_113476646\">1-5 p.m.<\/span> Children can sign up for one or both camps when registration opens later in the spring. Children and teachers participating in both camps will also be provided lunch.<\/p>\n<p>MKC students will take three 60-minute classes of their choice, per availability.
