The Upward Bound Program at Southern Arkansas University is participating in the Summer Food Service Program as a closed site, open only to Upward Bound participants. Meals will be provided to eligible students free of charge. (To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or nonresidential camp, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-priced meals in the National School Lunch Program.) Children who are part of households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly food stamps) benefits, or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automagically eligible to receive free meals.<\/p>\n
Acceptance and participation requirements for the Program and all activities are the same for all, and meals will be provided to these students without charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the site and times as follows: Southern Arkansas University Cafeteria, 7:00-8:00 a.m.-Breakfast, 12:00-1:00 p.m.-Lunch, and 5:00-6:00 p.m.-Dinner, Monday-Thursday, June 6-July 7, 2016. Children who are not participants of the Upward Bound program can only eat two of the three meals.<\/p>\n
