Featuring music and instruments from all across the world, there is truly something for every taste,\u201d said Director of Percussion Michael Britt, who will be directing the eleven-member student percussion group.<\/p>\n<p>Josh Withem, senior from Haltom City, Texas, will be playing his last concert with the ensemble. He will be featured on the vibraphone during the piece \u201cUntil Morning Sings\u201d by David Reeves. It is an up-tempo, festive work in the style of a Latin Samba. Withem is also featured on the timbales on \u201cScojo Madness\u201d by Davila and Johnson, arranged by Britt. He is joined as a soloist on this tune by Joshua King, freshman from Lorena, Texas, on the snare drum. \u201cScojo Madness\u201d is a high energy \u201cjam\u201d piece in a Latin Songo style.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2014\/04\/SAU-Percussion-Concert-2011_1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3685 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/files\/2014\/04\/SAU-Percussion-Concert-2011_1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"SAU Percussion Concert 2011\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>King was also recently featured in an SAU feature video and \u201cComplete College Experience\u201d commercial. King is known for his dedication and work ethic \u2013 practicing long hours. The video demonstrates King\u2019s rehearsal regimen as it shows him drumming in the rain and in his SAU residence hall room, leading up to his performance at an SAU football game. The video can be seen at www.YouTube.com\/SAUmag.<\/p>\n<p>The concert is free and open to the public.
