U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln will speak to students on the campus of Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 10.<\/p>\n

Jillian Bridges will introduce Lincoln and recognize her for her work with Internet safety. Bridges, a ninth grader at Magnolia Junior High School, worked on a resolution with Rep. Bruce Maloch to recognize March 31 as Internet Safety Day.<\/p>\n

Lincoln will address students on what is happening in Washington with Internet safety and other issues such as Facebook.com, identity theft, and how students can protect themselves.<\/p>\n

A questions and answer session will follow her presentation.<\/p>\n

Lincoln made history in 1998 when she became the youngest woman ever elected to the United States Senate. She is only the second woman to win a U.S. Senate seat representing Arkansas. She began her second term when she was sworn in in January 2005.<\/p>\n

Lincoln was first elected to public office in 1992 as a Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the First Congressional District in Arkansas, and marking the first time a woman had ever won this post. She was a founding member of the \u201cBlue Dog\u2019 Coalition, a group of moderate House Democrats.<\/p>\n
