The 2012 Southwest Arkansas Regional Science Fair will be held on Friday, March 16, at Southern Arkansas University.<\/p>\n
Over 530 student participants in grades 3-12 have registered 471 projects.\u00a0The Science Fair is supported by Southern Arkansas University and the South Central Educational Services Cooperative, with special thanks to S&S Hardware in Magnolia.<\/p>\n
Activities and demonstrations presented during the fair include the following: \u201cThe Chemistry Show\u201d by Dr. Tim Schroeder and the Chemistry Club, \u201cPhun with Physics\u201d by Dr. Abdel Bachi and the Physics Club, \u201cLogoly State Park Presents Local Wildlife\u201d by Jennifer Gammons, and a new display of dinosaur fossils donated by the families of Saundra Lewis and Dr. Charles McGahey, presented by Dr. Jamie Brandon, SAU research station archeologist for the Arkansas Archeological Survey.<\/p>\n
Judges for the Science Fair include volunteers from Albemarle, CMC Steel and South Central Education Services Cooperative as well as SAU faculty, staff and students.<\/p>\n
