Police are continuing an investigation into the theft of five horses, a livestock trailer, and other equipment from Mulerider Stables at Southern Arkansas University.<\/p>\n
The theft took place in the overnight hours of Wednesday, Nov. 2. The trailer was recovered in Tom, Okla., on Thursday night, but none of the five horses have been found. The horses were owned by SAU students who are members of the University\u2019s nationally competitive collegiate rodeo team.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are doing everything we can to locate these valuable and loved horses,\u201d said SAU President Dr. David Rankin. \u201cThe loss of these horses is very personal to our students, and we are all hoping and praying for their safe return.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe SAU Police Department is working with numerous local, county and state law enforcement agencies regarding the theft,\u201d said SAU Police Chief Eric Plummer. \u201cLeads are coming in to the police department, and we are developing those leads so that we may have a successful resolution to this case.\u201d<\/p>\n
