The courses are open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>A summer camp for kids will be held June 21-24 and June 28-July 1. The class will last from 8 a.m. to noon for a half day, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a full day. The camp will spark new interests, develop understanding and stimulate your child\u2019s imagination and creativity. There will be indoor\/outdoor games and activities as well as classroom settings for instruction.<\/p>\n<p>The camp will be held on the SAU campus; the cost is $60 for half day camp, and $100 for full day camp.<\/p>\n<p>A tennis clinic will be held from 9-10 a.m. June 7-11, at the SAU Tennis Courts. Students will learn grips, strokes, the mental game, hand-eye coordination, footwork and strategies. Bring a tennis racket, tennis shoes and a water bottle. This class is for ages 5-9. The cost of the class is $35. The instructor is Shelley Malone.<\/p>\n<p>A youth swimming course will be held each afternoon, Monday through Thursday, June 7-17 and June 21-July 1 at the SAU pool. This comprehensive course will place each child according to individual ability.\u00a0 Classes are for ages 4-12 and will strive to advance each child as far as possible.\u00a0 All classes are American Red Cross certified and will teach basic water safety.\u00a0 Class sizes are limited to 10.<\/p>\n<p>Classes begin at 2 p.m., with a new class beginning every 30 minutes until 5 p.m.\u00a0 The cost of the class is $60.\u00a0 The instructor is Pam Mayo.<\/p>\n<p>A youth theatre course will be offered July 19-30 for children and youths ages five and up. The class will meet Monday through Friday; class for students ages five to nine will be held from 2-3 p.m., and class for students ages ten and up will be held from 3-4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The course will help young people understand what is included in theatrical productions.\u00a0 Rehearsals will include acting, song and dance, and will focus on students learning how to express themselves.\u00a0 The class will conclude with a public performance on July 30. The cost of the class is $45, and it will be led by Lindsay Walters.<\/p>\n<p>A fundamentals of golf course will be held June 7-10 at the Magnolia Country Club.\u00a0 The class will meet from 8-10 a.m. each day. This is an introductory class designed to teach students the basic rules and skills of golf. Driving the ball, short game, putting and chipping skills will be taught.\u00a0 It will focus on the basic swing and golf strategies. The cost of the class is $50 and will be taught by Leonard Biddle.<\/p>\n<p>An advanced golf course is planned for June 21-24 at the Magnolia Country Club.\u00a0 The class will meet from 8 a.m. to noon each day. This is an advanced class designed to teach students golf course management. Students will learn what clubs to use on different holes, as well as practice skills such as driving the ball, putting and chipping.\u00a0 Each day students will get to play at least nine holes of golf. The cost of the class is $70 and will be taught by Leonard Biddle.<\/p>\n<p>An art workshop for children ages 10-12 will be held June 7-10.\u00a0 Class will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. each day in the Brinson Fine Arts building.\u00a0 Students will explore the human form using a variety of media including drawing, water color, pastel, collage and possibly clay.<\/p>\n<p>The class will be taught by James Fantini; the cost is $50 and includes all materials.<\/p>\n<p>A children\u2019s art workshop for those ages 4-12 will be held from July 19-22.\u00a0 Class will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. each day in the Brinson Fine Arts building.\u00a0 Children will paint, draw and construct 3-D art using various media.\u00a0 The workshop will conclude with an art show in the Brinson Art Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>The class will be taught by Laurie Hicks and Patricia Leslie; the cost is $50 and includes all materials.<\/p>\n<p>Another summer art workshop for children ages 6-12 will be held from July 26-29. Class will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. each day in the Brinson Fine Arts building.\u00a0 Youths will be creating hands-on art with drawing, painting and paper mache themed around horses.<\/p>\n<p>The class will be taught by Laurie Hicks and Patricia Leslie; the cost is $50 and includes all materials.<\/p>\n<p>A mom\/tot gymnastics course will be held from 5-6 p.m. on July 12-15. The course is designed to teach how t safely supervise and instruct your child on basic motor skills and beginning tumbling.\u00a0 These foundational skills will insure your child physical success by improving coordination, agility and physical awareness. The cost of the class is $40. The instructor is Tommye Croft.<\/p>\n<p>Horse Riding for Beginners will be offered beginning June 1.\u00a0 The class is by appointment only and will end July 29. This class is for the person that has always wanted to ride horses but lacked the confidence to saddle up.\u00a0 The class is designed around the student\u2019s needs and is individually structured.\u00a0 The minimum age is 10. The cost of the class is $200, and t0he instructor is Heather Raney.<\/p>\n<p>A gymnastics for beginners course will take place from 3-4 p.m. on June 14-17 and July 12-15. This is a beginner class for students who have never taken tumbling.\u00a0 Students will learn basic motor skills which lead to basic tumbling to include various cartwheels and a backbend.\u00a0 This class is for ages 4-7. The cost of the class is $40. The instructor is Tommye Croft.<\/p>\n<p>Gymnastics for intermediates will be held from 4-5 p.m. on June 14-17 and July 12-15. The course is for students who are familiar with tumbling, can do perfect cartwheels and are working on backbends.\u00a0 Children should have taken gymnastics for at least one year to participate in this class.\u00a0 This class is for ages 8-13. The cost of the class is $40. The instructor is Tommye Croft.<\/p>\n<p>An advanced cheer tumbling course will be offered June 14-17 and July 12-15.\u00a0 The class is designed to help incorporate tumbling as a team. During June the course will meet from 5-6 p.m., and during July it will meet from 6-7 p.m.\u00a0 The class is open to squads getting ready for camps, or individuals.\u00a0 A back handspring is required for the class. \u00a0\u00a0 The cost of the class is $40, and it will be taught by Tommye Croft.<\/p>\n<p>Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People will be offered from 6-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, in room 207 of the Business\/Agri. Business Building. Participants will learn all the chords needed to play any song, any style, and any key using the secrets and shortcuts of professional players.\u00a0 Finding middle C and knowing the meaning of \u201cEvery Good Boy Does Fine\u201d is knowledge enough to enroll in this workshop.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the class is $55 plus $25 materials fee.\u00a0 For a free pamphlet, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to:\u00a0 Music Masters, 90 Molly Lane, Ringgold, GA 30736.<\/p>\n<p>Aquacize and Senior Wellness will begin in June. Aquacize will meet from 6-7 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday beginning June 1, and will continue through July 29. This class includes a wide variety of water exercises that provide for cardiovascular conditioning, toning, and strengthening of muscles.\u00a0 Flotation devices will be provided for deep water exercises.<\/p>\n<p>The Senior Wellness program will be held from 9-9:45 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday beginning June 2.\u00a0 The program will continue through July 29.
