{"id":1017,"date":"2009-09-17T17:01:28","date_gmt":"2009-09-17T22:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.southernarkansasuniversity.info\/?p=1017"},"modified":"2009-09-17T17:01:28","modified_gmt":"2009-09-17T22:01:28","slug":"modifications-made-for-great-southern-arkansas-mule-ride","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.saumag.edu\/news\/2009\/modifications-made-for-great-southern-arkansas-mule-ride\/","title":{"rendered":"Modifications Made for Great Southern Arkansas Mule Ride"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: small\">Due to weather related conditions, slight revisions have been made to Saturday\u2019s schedule of the Great Southern Arkansas Mule Ride.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: small\">Registration will be set up from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. inside the parking lot of the Donald W. Reynolds Campus and Community Center. This will allow everyone to register at one place and then be sent the appropriate locations, said Jeremy Langley, assistant to the president for special projects.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: small\">If an individual has rented a seat on a wagon, after registration they will be sent to Goode Circle which is located about a half a mile north of<span>\u00a0 <\/span>U.S. Highway 82 on County Road 13 to park their vehicle and load up their wagon.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>From registration, those who rented a mule will be directed to the Wilkins Stadium parking lot where they will be taken by shuttle to Mulerider Stables. Due to the likelihood of soggy ground, University officials are asking people not to drive their car to Mulerider Stables. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: small\">\u201cIf they are bringing their own animal or wagon, after they come through registration, they will be sent to Mulerider stables, but they must come by registration in the Reynolds parking lot first,\u201d Langley said.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: small\">Registration will end at 9:45 a.m. and the Mule Ride begins at 10 a.m. Weather related announcements will be posted to www.saumag.edu\/100.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 10pt;line-height: 200%\"><span><span style=\"font-size: small\">Attached is the full schedule of events for the Great Southern Arkansas Mule Ride.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Times New Roman\">AGENDA \u2013 Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Times New Roman\">8:00 a.m. &#8211; Mule ride registration in parking lot of Reynolds Center<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Times New Roman\">10:00 a.m. &#8211; Mule ride departs Magnolia for McNeil<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Times New Roman\">11:45 a.m. &#8211; Mule judging at McNeil, east of L&amp;NW engines<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Times New Roman\">12:00 p.m. &#8211; Lunch at McNeil City Hall (served 11:30 \u2013 2 pm):<br \/>\n\u2022 SAU Pep Band<br \/>\n\u2022 Mule artifact booths (blacksmith, farer, etc)<br \/>\n\u2022 Display of mule photographs and artifacts from public<br \/>\n\u2022 Tour L&amp;NW engines<br \/>\n\u2022 Public invited to welcome the riders into McNeil<br \/>\n\u2022 Non-riders bring your own folding chair<br \/>\n\u2022 $5\/ticket; hamburger\/chips\/dessert\/soda<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Times New Roman\">2:00 pm: Depart McNeil for return trip to Magnolia<br \/>\n\u2022 Non-return riders may have their livestock picked-up at McNeil<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;font-family: Times New Roman\">5:00 pm: Mule Jump Demonstration &#8211; SAU Welcome Center:<br \/>\n\u2022 Open to the public.
