In recognition of October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Title IX Leadership Team is hosting the Clothesline Project on campus in the mall area on October 3 from 9:30-3:30. Housed in Little Rock with the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV), the Clothesline Awareness Project is a visual display that bears witness to the deadly reality of domestic violence by using art and t-shirts to honor and remember all known domestic violence murder victims in the state of Arkansas. There are currently over 460 t-shirts in the project, but ACADV only displays up to the previous 10 years of t-shirts due to the size. The project has added t-shirts to represent child and male victims in the last few years.
In addition, to the Clothesline Project, SAU athletics is partnering with Title IX to host awareness games for volleyball on October 1 and football on October 5.
If you would like more information about healthy relationships, safety plan, and victims/survivors resources on and off-campus, please contact the SAU Counseling Center at 235-4911 or Title IX at 235-4324 or electronically at https://web.saumag.edu/title-ix/
