Ten education majors from Southern Arkansas University’s received scholarships to join other education majors among other colleges and universities across Arkansas for the ARTful Teaching Conference. The conference was held April 3-4, 2017. This year’s theme was “The Art of Remix,” and provided two days of learning, creativity, and insight exploring how the concept of remix can extend and invigorate teaching practice. The “Remix” conference was prepared specifically for Middle School and Secondary Majors of diverse content areas. Lead presenters for the extended sessions of the conference were lecturers from the Teachers College of Columbia University and co-founders of Literacy Unbound in New York City.
